Holiday's, Birthday's, Everyday

I can' t believe 2013 is over and my kids are all another year older....I love watching them grow up but at the same time, I hate to see it pass so fast.

We had a great holiday season....Thanksgiving was with family and Christmas was easy and laid back at home with the kids, nowhere to be and no stress whatsoever (very recommended).
We stayed home last year as well and loved it so much that we have decided to not be running around at all on this special day.  We spend so much time throughout the month seeing family and visiting people and having christmas parties that when Christmas Day comes we just want to be at home and feel the peace of the day.  We invite parents over for a visit if they want and we make an easy good meal!!!   It all just makes sense when you have young kids.
New Years is the same....we love to celebrate New Years Eve with confetti and balloons and food and party stuff and even keeping the kids up late, but being home is so worth it because when we are done, the kids are in their pajamas and off to bed and we enjoy it so much more this way.  This New Years Eve we even had Avery take a late nap so he could be up with us later  for our(10 PM) celebration. He was having a ball with everything and I was so glad he could be with us ringing in the new year with all the fun.....I captured it all on video like I do every year and watching it back is so exciting when you see the fun the kids have, everytime.
Following New Year's and a week later exactly is Zaylin's birthday.   He turned 3 this year and all he wanted to do was go bowling.  We have never taken the kids bowling so it was a fun new experience for all of us.  He had a great birthday with being more aware this year of what a birthday even is, and loved telling everyone how old he was.
Zaylin got underwear for Christmas and we were unsure if he would be fully ready to take on the potty responsibility, but he has mastered it all in but a few days and has continued to take himself to the bathroom ever since...it has been a great way to start the year.
This 2014 year is starting off strong so far and will be a year of firsts and new activities!!!
