There are so many things DAILY that my kids do or say that I could easily want to write down to remember, but that would be a lot of stuff. So I guess I just need to be realistic and keep tabs here and there and know that I need to accept that they are growing up so fast and I need to just soak in the moments as much as I can.
I love my kiddos each so much, they are my LIFE. Zach and I both cannot believe Alyda will be 5 this year in July, then starting school in the Fall, and she is SOOOOO ready! She has social skills that I never had....she talks to everyone....adults and kids alike, and if you have ever been the "lucky" ear on the other side of her chatting "I'm sorry" ha ha. She just likes to talk!!! When we put her to bed, Zach and I can barely get out of the room without having to finally shut the door and she is still talking!!!! She knows so much and is already reading and writing and has to almost everyday write a special note to someone. She asks A LOT......A LOT of questions.....which is good, but for me it is a little frustrating to hear it daily and hourly. She loves primary and hates to miss it, and they love her too, everyone is always telling me how she always has the biggest smile all the time and is so polite (that's good to know she is keeping it together while I am not with her.) She is a great big sister she plays with Zaylin and wants to hold and kiss Avery all the time. I honestly am so glad I was blessed with her first....she makes my life complete and she is such a special person to us.
Zaylin my sweet CURLY haired, tender hearted but rough boy is almost 2 1/2. He makes me laugh everday with his comments and copying Alyda of course. He even has to put on a dress to dance because she does, but he has learned a lot of great things from watching and imitating her. He too has a lot to say and sometimes between the 2 of them I am wanting to pull my ears off. Zaylin loves basketball and has a pretty good shot already. He is also a great big brother and wants to be right there next to Avery kissing and hugging him and I have yet to see any jealousy whatsoever. He is growing fast and can do so much on his own....while he is not potty trained yet, he still takes the inititive to, all by himself go in and get on the toilet...randomely throughout the day (unfortunately he is just not quite ready to make it permanent yet). He amazes me with how much he really does know....he loves to count and will count everything he sees. He knows the letters, and is now just starting to teach himself the sounds they make. He is just so interested in learning without any prompting, I love it. I don't know what life would be like without him....he means so much to me!
Avery although he is still so young at 3 months is all, is growing and learning too fast for me. He, like Zaylin did at his age, likes to stand on my lap all the time and when he is on the floor doing tummy time he is already pushing up on his toes and inching himself forward, lets just say he likes to move. Not uncommon for my kids....they don't waste time and are always on the go. He is a cuddler and loves to be held and can fall asleep on my shoulder so easily (my other 2 were not like that at all). He knows the difference of who is holding him because the second he is in my arms he rleaxes and gets comfortable and it melts my heart. Avery is a SMILEY kid....even in his worst and saddest moment I can get him to crack a smile and I love it! He is very vocal and can definitely hold up his end of a mother/baby conversation and he honestly keeps me sane throughout the day.... I love him sooooo much.
Avery is sleeping like a champ and even takes naps regularly throughout the day (I could not get Alyda to take a nap "EVER" at any age) she doesn't even like other people napping and tries to find ways to "accidentally" disturb them, ha ha (not funny), she doesn't like to be bored I guess! Zaylin was hit and miss as a baby, but now loves a nap, but not in his bed but rather the recliner downstarirs with milk and cheerios and he practically demands it when we are out and away from home and he is tired, but yet he also can just fall asleep on a floor if tired enough. Ultimately they have all done well to sleep at night and that is all that really matterd to me.
Avery has proven to fit well here amongst us, although he hates the car or his car seat or both because he mostly cries in that situation. He doesn't take a binky so ther is no soothing him as of now while in the car. He sucks on everything else though...his hands, blankets, his burp rags, my shirt, my arm, pretty much anything you stick in his mouth....but no binky it's kind of annoying. I just think he is bored in the seat and looking for someone to chat with him. Alyda and Zaylin both help out so much with Avery and they all love each other so much.
I love that I can rely on such great kids to keep my life full of every emotion you can possibly think of and more. They really do give me a reason to be here and I am so grateful that I have been entrusted with their care....I know I am not even close to being perfect at this job, but I don't want to do anything else, even though it is the HARDEST job in the world!
